Sarau Festival – An Open Invitation to the Moutere Community and Beyond
An exciting new event is being planned to celebrate all our region has to offer. The inaugural Sarau Festival, on Sunday, 3rd of February in Upper Moutere, promises to be an afternoon and evening of fun. Plans for the event to be held at Moutere Hills Community Centre, are underway and we have already been encouraged by the support of sponsors. This celebration of the diversity and quality of produce from the Moutere region will include:
- A vibrant Farmers Market of local produce, wares and curios.
- The first “Blackcurrant Festival” set in the heart of the New Zealand blackcurrant industry.
- The inaugural “Moutere Valley Mountain Bike Race” – take this special opportunity to traverse the Moutere olive groves, orchards, hop gardens, fields of boysenberries & blackcurrants, vineyards, and our local cheese factory.
