In addition to our ever-popular baking, preserving and juice/wine competitions (entries by 4.30pm please), we are proud to introduce two brand new competitions to turn the heat up at Sarau Festival this year!
GARDEN SCULPTURE COMPETITION
Create something interesting, funky, or downright artistic! Our guest judges would prefer this to be from either recycled or natural materials. There is no limit to size or to material so let your imagination roam free!
Bring your entry to the Sarau Festival by 4.30pm – no need to register, no entry fee. Head for the green flags to find the Garden Sculpture area.
Prize for those under 12 and one for Adults (& those over 12).

WRITING COMPETITIONS
To be judged by local author Jillian Sullivan:
Kids – write a poem or a short story about Blackcurrants, or Life in your area
Adults – write a limerick about Blackcurrants or Life in the Moutere
If you want to write something which doesn’t come into these categories – no problem – we will be pleased to see it, but it may not win a prize! Also – please note that this is not limited to residents of the Moutere – anyone can use their imagination and enter!
Bring them along to the Sarau Festival by 5pm – no entry fee. There will be a board displaying the entries, and assuming there are plenty of entries Jill will take these away with her and judge them over the next two weeks. Winners will be announced in the March Grapevine and prizes will be able to be collected from the Upper Moutere Village.
