What’s on at Sarau 2010?

There is so much in store at this year’s Sarau Festival. Tell everyone you know and come along for another fantastic day of Moutere Magic! Sarau Festival 2010 brings you all this and more:
• The Mountain Bike race through paddocks, vineyard, hop groves, raspberry, blackcurrant and boysenberry fields – register on the website…
• Guest Chef, Steve Richards from Jester House with innovative blackcurrant recipes to share…
• Renowned Lincoln scientist Geoff Langford shares his extensive knowledge of the growing of small fruits in the home garden…
• Scarecrow competition – just for fun, but a great prize – sponsored by Owen Bartlett Pottery…
• Cooking competitions – get out your baking trays, jam pan, and juicers and create stunning new recipes for our judges to sample. Awesome gift basket prizes donated by Barkers of Geraldine…
• A book stall of second hand gardening books and magazines – bring along all those ones you never look at to sell, and take away some new reading. (phone Sharon on 5432814 if you need books collected)…
• Science and health information from the NZ Blackcurrant Cooperative and the Cawthron Institute…
• Ribena have some great new games and beach balls to give away…
• There’ll be bands including Hi Strung (featuring Rick Stokes on guitar and Tamsin Leenhouwers), the hottest Summer sounds from Gecko and the stunning Japanese drummers – back by popular demand…
• Local food to sample and wine and beer to be drunk. Don’t forget to support the Youth Group who will be selling blackcurrant juice to keep us all strong, healthy and hydrated!
• Bone up on local history with a great selection of historical photos and the knowledge of local historians – local identity Mike Eggers and the history of farming in the valley…
• NCC/TDC Eco home display unit will be on site to display eco building and to answer questions about the work of the Trust…
• Stalls, stalls and more stalls – we have some great new people registered to show you what they are producing in the Moutere area.
