Music in the Moutere

Pete, Patrick and Perrin Madsen will become the Gibbs on Sunday as part of the continuous live entertainment at the Sarau Festival, which starts at 4pm. The Madsen Brothers are a unique Bee Gees tribute band in that they are all brothers. They grew up locally and the five brothers can mix and match to make up the Bee Gees tribute, depending on who is around and who’s on tour, as they often go solo as well.

The Madsen Brothers are one of three great acts who will take to their ‘truck’ stage at the Festival.

Also featuring, are the Mr Nobody Trio, a groovy local jazz band – entertaining you with a mixture of vocal and instrumental material from well known jazz standards to blues and funk influenced material with a special kind of energy. Leading the trio is Fraser Campbell (who was in the band Mint, which entertained at Country Occasion), accompanied by Mike Simmons and Brett Holland.

The third artist is Callum Allardice, an exciting jazz musician from Motueka. He and Fraser Campbell have a connection as they were both members of the Panfried Jack band which featured at the recent Nelson jazz festival, and received rave reviews. In the recent 2007 Southern Jam in Blenheim, Callum received the prestigious “Most Outstanding Guitarist” and “Most Outstanding Young Musician” awards.
